It’s life-altering. My job is so much more than just documenting the graphic realities of birth. My job is about preserving the sacredness of your birth space and focusing more on the moments of connection and love. My wish is to help you remember all the things you may have missed while you were focused on one of the most important jobs you’ve ever had - birthing your beautiful baby.

How I approach my work

Listen, there are a lot of photographers out there – but when it comes to birth photography you NEED someone who knows their stuff. I can’t tell you how many times someone has come to me because their photographer didn’t show up or decided to not be available while they should have been on-call. You need someone who is not only personally invested in you and your story and the sacredness of your birth, but also knows how to document it. Someone who gladly hops out of bed at 3 AM -even if it’s a false alarm!

I want you to know - I CARRY AN IMMENSE APPRECIATION FOR LIFE AND THE ABILITY TO FIND BEAUTY IN EVERY SITUATION. I take THAT WITH ME INTO EVERY BIRTH SPACE - NO MATTER HOW YOUR BIRTH UNFOLDS.

FAQ

Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! Listen, I know birth photography is a huge investment. I want to make it as easy as possible for you to make it attainable. My payment plans are very simple and set up to make it easier for you. We can discuss what that looks like during our first phone consult. I also offer gift registries where your friends and family can contribute to your investment as a gift!
When should I book?
It’s best to book as soon as possible. My schedule for births is limited to 2 birth clients per month. This means my calendar can & does fill up quickly. To secure your spot you should book as soon as you are ready! It also helps if you need a payment plan. Booking earlier gives you more time to pay.
Can I choose my own music for the film?
Clients cannot choose their own music. This is because a music license is required for this type of film. I will always listen to your music preferences and try my best to choose something that you will love and suits your story best. I encourage all clients to watch previous birth videos to get a better idea of my style and music choices.
What if you miss the birth?
Missed births are really rare. When I am on call I am committing to making sure I can be there. However, missed births can happen for reasons outside of my control. I work with a few backup photographers to try to minimize a missed birth. I will try to get to your birth as soon as possible but if the moment of birth is missed, a supplemental session will be offered (fresh 48, newborn, etc.).
Are You Booking Hospital Births?
Yes! I know different hospitals currently have different policies in place because of COVID. As a certified Doula, I am allowed to enter your birth space along with you and your support partner. Should that change for any reason, your investment will transfer over to another session (newborn, fresh 48, postpartum, or family, photos + film) and products such as albums, prints, etc.
Will you post my images online?
Only if you give me permission to do so! I would never share anything that a client wasn’t comfortable with. This is your birth story - not mine! I respect the privacy of all of my clients. There is so much power in sharing your birth story and I gladly will do so if you allow me to. If not, no big deal and no pressure!
